Scentsitive Souls: Helping Anxious Dogs Feel Safe ZOOM Workshop
$40 per family
Has your dog experienced something that changed how they respond to the world?
Do they seem anxious, easily overwhelmed, or constantly on edge?
Do they panic, shut down, or struggle to recover after stressful situations?
This workshop is designed for dogs who don’t just “need more training,” but need support feeling safe.
We’ll break down how fear and stress actually show up in behavior, and what your dog is communicating in those moments. You’ll learn how to recognize early signs of overwhelm, reduce trigger stacking, and respond in ways that help your dog regulate instead of escalate.
We’ll focus on practical, real-life strategies you can use right away, including low-stimulation outlets, grounding techniques, and changes to daily routines that lower overall stress and create more stability.
This is not a quick fix, and it’s not about forcing your dog through fear. The goal is to build a solid foundation, one that supports long-term change, improves your dog’s quality of life, and helps them move through the world with more confidence and less distress.
Best suited for anxious, sensitive, or shut-down dogs, and the people who want to better understand and support them!
CGC Test Drop – In
FREE to NMBDT CLIENTS
The CGC test, or Canine Good Citizen test, is a test that many landlords, therapy dog organizations and even dog training facilities use as a standard to judge whether a dog has skills needed to move on to the next level in their “career”. It is comprised of 10 behaviors that at NMBDT we work towards every day in our classes even without the goal of the test in mind. For over 15 years, Helen, a certified CGC evaluator for the AKC, at NMBDT has administered the test to hopeful clients when they asked and watched them go on to do more and more amazing things with their dogs! This is a way to continue doing so in a more structured way.
NMBDT trainers will do complimentary CGC tests for humans and their pups who have taken classes or worked one on one with us at NMBDT. Registration is required, then just show up have fun, and take the test! Even if you just want to see what it is you need to work on, we’re happy to help.
For those who have NOT taken classes at NMBDT but would like to take the test, the cost is $30 per test, pass or fail. No registration is required but you must bring proof of vaccinations and register to let us know you plan on attending!
