Basic Level Classes
On top of doing one on one behavior consultations, No Monkey Business Dog Training teaches a variety of classes locally. Puppy training and other dog training classes are taught using positive and effective methods and as well as basic obedience, your dog will learn other important everyday skills.
Dog training classes are taught at No Monkey Business Dog Training. We teach classes on weekday evenings and weekends so you can find a class that fits your schedule. We recommend if you are considering signing up for a class that you thoroughly review your personal schedule to ensure you will not miss classes. It is fine to miss one, and we will help you make up what you missed the next class, but most dogs do best when they can come every week. It is fine for someone else to bring the dog in your place if you are away, including your pet sitter or dog walker!
Classes run on most holidays except for July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas, unless otherwise noted, or discussed in the first class depending on group attendance. We do our best to work around everyone’s schedule but also know the benefits dogs experience by coming to classes each week instead of missing weeks in-between. If you have a conflict due to a holiday and we are still running the class, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you and have you drop in to one of the other classes!
- Basic classes (puppy - level 3) are 4 weeks long and cost $220 - $250 unless otherwise noted.
- Other classes range in length and cost and are listed in their descriptions.
- To attend classes all dogs must be up to date on vaccines (for their age – rabies is not required for puppies to attend class if they are under the age requirement) Proof of vaccines is brought to the first class or can be emailed directly to Helen prior to attending.
ABCs Puppy Kindergarten
Puppies aged 9 weeks – 16 weeks at start of class. Duration: 4 weeks $220
In this fun, upbeat, and safe environment you can let your puppy be a puppy! This the foundation class every new puppy owner needs to get off on the right paw together. We focus on confidence building, bonding, life skills and focus work in combination with socialization and public work too!
We also offer the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy program to interested owners. Click here to learn more from the A.K.C. website. Puppies should be 9 weeks – 16 weeks AT THE START of class. You can take this class as many times as you like until your puppy is 16 weeks old!

Our private consult packages have the same curriculum as our classes but all the privacy and individual attention that consultations offer! Great for shy, reactive dogs, or humans who need a little more of an individual approach. Each weekly 30 minute session is geared towards you and your dog succeeding together as a team! Nailing the Basics Level 2
(Dogs aged 4 months and up) 4 weeks $220
Let’s make it harder!! More distractions, fun and games, and more advanced exercises are part of level 2 classes. You must be pre-approved for this class by Helen or have already gone through the level 1 classes with your dog. This class also works towards getting dogs their CGC so they can do therapy work. The biggest part of level 2 class is adding distance, duration, and distraction to the skills your dog has learned in level 1 to get you ready to go out in public or fine tune your skills together as a team.
Nailing the Basics Level 2 PRIVATE CONSULTATION PACKAGE
(Dogs aged 4 months and up) 4 week (30 min) private sessions – $320

Great for shy or reactive dogs or if you need more one on one help. You must be pre-approved for this class by Helen or have already gone through the level 1 classes with your dog. This class also works towards getting dogs their CGC so they can do therapy work. The biggest part of level 2 class is adding distance, duration, and distraction to the skills your dog has learned in level 1 to get you ready to go out in public or fine tune your skills together as a team.
Out in Public Level 3
(Dogs aged 6 months and up) 4 weeks $250
Let’s take these skills and hit the road shall we? In this 4 week class we go to different locations both inside and out in the Concord area to work on loose leash walking, polite greetings, coming when called and more. You must have completed Nailing the basics Level 2 for this class OR get preapproval from one of our instructors. This is a great next step for those who want to start taking their dogs out in public with the assistance of a trainer and group. It’s also a great supplement to a CGC class or working towards therapy work.
Out in Public Level 3 PRIVATE CONSULTATION PACKAGE

Reactive Rover Level 1
5 weeks – Cost is $395
Audit only – $275
Have a dog that is reactive when he sees other dogs, people, etc out on leash? Want to be able to see other dogs/people on walks and not have your dog embarrass you? This class is a great choice for you. In this class you will learn the ways to work your dog through the reactivity as well as slowly introduce working around other dogs or triggers in a way that allows your dog to be successful.
This 5 week class is HUMANS ONLY via ZOOM for the FIRST 2 WEEKS then dogs come the following 2 to work individually in a rotation style so the rest of the class can observe as well as work their own dog too, the last class is humans only again to discuss the next steps and problem solve as well as discuss guests coming over successfully! This allows for in depth information sharing, and a less stressful environment for dogs and people. Power point presentations each week including videos, handouts and homework will make sure you and your dog are getting the help you need. Each week will be question and answer session and you can even share videos of progress or problem areas for the instructor (Helen) to view, or the entire class.
The goal at the end of this class is that you and your dog are ready to join one of NMBDT other classes to help continue exposure in a stress free and safe environment or to just be able to go on walks! Should you need additional help before that, doing private sessions is always an option.
This class is great for LEASH reactive dogs AND territory/ guest reactivity too. Private training may be needed to supplement after this class but this is an excellent foundation for ANY dog/human team.
WE NOW OFFER AND AUDIT ONLY version of RR and includes the zoom sessions and watching the in person class IF you are close enough to come – if not you can still get all the info via zoom. Register the same way but select “audit only” in the class

Reactive Rover Level 2
5 weeks $325
This next level from level 1 reactive rover begins to teach your dog skills as well as continue to expose them to other dogs/people and the world in a safe and controlled way. This class, similar to RR1, is a mix of online AND in person where we work on continuing our reactivity work BUT also adding in skills and closing distance and upping criteria.
The first two weeks of this class are held VIA ZOOM. We work on skills like leash walking, stays, relaxed on cue and more, then the next 3 weeks are IN PERSON at our facility..
