Is your dog in need of a job? Ready to put your dog’s sense of smell to the test? Did you know that a dogs nose contains up to 3 million olfactory receptors!?! That’s powerful enough to detect a single drop of liquid in 20 Olympic sized swimming pools! Canine Scentwork, the sport equivalent of what police and military detection canines do, is a great enrichment and confidence building activity for dogs of all ages! In this class your dog will learn to navigate through search areas and interact with novel objects and environments as they use their nose to hunt for the target odor (hidden item). This sport is not only a great way to offer your dog mental stimulation and enrichment, but it’s also an incredibly tool for building partnership between human and dog. Dogs of all ages and physical ability are able to participate in this class. During this class dogs will run one at a time and will be crated or wait in their vehicle in between runs. Due to the structure of this class DINOS** (see below info) are welcome to participate.
