On top of doing one on one behavior consultations, No Monkey Business Dog Training teaches a variety of classes locally. Puppy training and other dog training classes are taught using positive and effective methods and as well as basic obedience, your dog will learn other important everyday skills.
Dog training classes are taught at No Monkey Business Dog Training. We teach classes on weekday evenings and weekends so you can find a class that fits your schedule. We recommend if you are considering signing up for a class that you thoroughly review your personal schedule to ensure you will not miss classes. It is fine to miss one, and we will help you make up what you missed the next class, but most dogs do best when they can come every week. It is fine for someone else to bring the dog in your place if you are away, including your pet sitter or dog walker!
Classes run on most holidays except for July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas, unless otherwise noted, or discussed in the first class depending on group attendance. We do our best to work around everyone’s schedule but also know the benefits dogs experience by coming to classes each week instead of missing weeks in-between. If you have a conflict due to a holiday and we are still running the class, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you and have you drop in to one of the other classes!

- To attend classes all dogs must be up to date on vaccines (for their age – rabies is not required for puppies to attend class if they are under the age requirement) Proof of vaccines is brought to the first class or can be emailed directly to Helen prior to attending.
Puppy Play and Learn Drop In
Puppies aged 10 weeks – 16 weeks 45min – 1 hour $20 per puppy/family
Come have fun with your new family member! In this drop in class we have a blast letting puppies – BE PUPPIES! Play, some basic skills, socializing with everyone and asking all the questions you need. Puppies should be up to date on vaccines for their age to attend AND have a clear fecal result from the vet. Bring proof of vaccines and fecal to your first drop in!
Family Dog Confident Puppy
Puppies aged 10 weeks – 6 months – 4 weeks $220
Puppy class should be FUN, and puppies should learn more than just sit, down and stay. In this class we help you create a puppy who is resilient, confident, and focused! We play on obstacles, we teach patterns, we even work on some tricks and footwork. This class is a fantastic way to bond with your new best friend, and the entire family is welcome to attend together!
Family Dog Life Skills
(Dogs aged 10 weeks and up) 4 weeks $220
The very beginning of training together as a team. In this class we work on the skills many people desire for their dogs, including –

This is a fantastic foundation class that does not work on leash skills but on building consistency with the basics so you can have a reliable best friend.
Each week we build on the past weeks learning and add new skills in. Humans and dogs have a great time learning how to better understand each other and you’ll have a wonderful foundation to continue growing from!
Family Dog Mindful Manners
(Dogs aged 4 months and up) 4 weeks $220
Your dog has sit and down and stay perfected, BUT they need help learning how to control their excitement and not jump on everyone! You’d like to work on more impulse control and get some leash skills. Here’s the next step! In this class we work on –
Relaxed down – settle when excited
Wait – no rushing out the door
Leash manners – no pulling, passing by distractions and better focus!
Safe with Stuff – how to take things away as well as build on a reliable Leave it
Polite greetings – no jumping please

Family Dog Everyday Excellence
(Dogs aged 4 months and up) 4 weeks $220
Let’s make it harder and really get to work!! More distractions, fun and games, and more advanced exercises are part of our Everyday Excellence class. You must have completed some classes or consult package at NMBDT prior to taking this class (or get pre-approval).
The biggest part of Everyday Excellence is adding distance, duration, and distraction to the skills your dog has learned so far to get you ready to go out in public or fine tune your skills together as a team.
Family Dog Polished Pup
(Dogs aged 6 months and up) 4 weeks $250
Let’s take these skills and hit the road shall we?
In this 4 week class we go to different locations both inside and out in the Concord area to work on loose leash walking, polite greetings, coming when called and more. You must have completed Everyday Excellence or a consult package for this class OR get preapproval from one of our instructors. This is a great next step for those who want to start taking their dogs out in public with the assistance of a trainer and group. It’s also a great supplement to a CGC class or working towards therapy work.
Reactive Rover Level 1
5 weeks – Cost is $395
Audit only – $275
Have a dog that is reactive when he sees other dogs, people, etc out on leash? Want to be able to see other dogs/people on walks and not have your dog embarrass you? This class is a great choice for you. In this class you will learn the ways to work your dog through the reactivity as well as slowly introduce working around other dogs or triggers in a way that allows your dog to be successful.
This 5 week class is HUMANS ONLY via ZOOM for the FIRST 2 WEEKS then dogs come the following 2 to work individually in a rotation style so the rest of the class can observe as well as work their own dog too, the last class is humans only again to discuss the next steps and problem solve as well as discuss guests coming over successfully! This allows for in depth information sharing, and a less stressful environment for dogs and people. Power point presentations each week including videos, handouts and homework will make sure you and your dog are getting the help you need. Each week will be question and answer session and you can even share videos of progress or problem areas for the instructor (Helen) to view, or the entire class.
The goal at the end of this class is that you and your dog are ready to join one of NMBDT other classes to help continue exposure in a stress free and safe environment or to just be able to go on walks! Should you need additional help before that, doing private sessions is always an option.
This class is great for LEASH reactive dogs AND territory/ guest reactivity too. Private training may be needed to supplement after this class but this is an excellent foundation for ANY dog/human team.
WE NOW OFFER AND AUDIT ONLY version of RR and includes the zoom sessions and watching the in person class IF you are close enough to come – if not you can still get all the info via zoom. Register the same way but select “audit only” in the class

Recovering Reactive Rover – Mini Class
4 weeks $300
If you’ve completed RR and RR2, you may want to join a group class but not quite feel ready for it. This is a great icebreaker! A limited amount of dogs in this class and a curriculum catered to recovering from reactivity means you can feel confident in helping you and your dog work on being able to be in a more distracting environment while maintaining all the work you’ve put in so far!
